Finally a ‘real’ small update. I have added a batch of new stills from Fifty Dead Men Walking which as we know will see it’s premiere at TIFF. Jim is reportedly scheduled to be there as well! This update also includes a new photoshoot from this year (love!) and two additional pictures from his 2007 Elle shoot. Lastly, Jim was also interviewed for Flashlight Music in July, you can read the full article here.
“I know this sounds so wanky but I really feel that I became an artist when I was in Manchester. It was when I began to think about stuff, to write more stuff - plays and poetry and it made me get back into acting. It was something for me to put my mind to. This was when I worked harder than I’d ever worked.”
Despite a legal threat from the spy drama’s main subject, the world premiere of Kari Skogland’s Fifty Dead Men Walking at the Toronto International Film Festival will go ahead as planned, the film’s British co-producers said Tuesday.
“In response to reports in The Hollywood Reporter, the film’s partners have confirmed that any queries relating to the legitimacy of the film are unfounded and that due process has been followed throughout the production,” London-based Future Films and HandMade Films International said in a joint statement.
Crossing Over has been given the official release date of October 24th (limited), according to the official site. The movie was going to be released this month but was pushed back. Also the film will not be premiering at the 2008 Venice Film Festival unlike previously rumored. Thanks to Momoko for the heads up!

Hello everyone! I’d like to appologize for there being no updates here on Jim-Sturgess.com for a month. As I believe I mentioned before, I had started a new job which led to one of the reasons I had little time for my online commitments. Well that was not all, right before I went on vacation at the end of June (shortly after my last update), my computer broke (yes, for the 12,893 time). So I planned to get everything sorted after we returned from our trip but it would have it be that it actually be another problem - with our internet / phone / cable wiring thus resulting in me having terrible connection problems for many months. So that delayed into a few weeks waiting on our company’s technician to have the first available appointment. Finally after all this hastle I thought everything was on solid ground once more, but My PC still seems to act up. (I truly think it’s Windows Vista now, so be wary all of you with this) so it’s a game of luck of being able to get online. However, I am able to use my friend’s computer once or twice a week for a few hours on my days off from work now and I hope I am going to be able to bring you steady updates once more.
This site has not been forgotten, and I hope from here on out I will be back to bring you regular updates about the fantastic Jim Sturgess and his career. I already have heaps of things to catch up on, not to mention I’ll have some rare treats (scans, DVD captures, etc) coming up soon. So there is still plenty to look forward to here at the site and I hope you will stay with us. (Even though my job is still occupying most of my time.) Check back as I try to bring the site up to date with news and any missed pictures in the coming days, and without any further ados here is a little news round up:
Media Alerts - Jim Sturgess and the gorgeous Anne Hathaway will be gracing the ‘cover’ of Flaunt magazine’s 95th issue ‘Growing Pains’! The two young actors come together in a double-cover feature, personifying the aspirations of today’s young and hopeful. The mag is due out this month.
21 was released on DVD & BluRay yesterday (July 22) on region 1. Captures and clips of the film and features are coming up! As well as caps from The Other Boleyn Girl.
Heartless filmed for three weeks on the Isle of Man starting on June 30th. Production is still listed as filming.
Crossing Over is rumored to be making a debut at this year’s Venice Film Festival (of course this is being rumored on IMDb so take it with a grain of salt). The festival lineup and nominees are to be announced on July 29, 2008 so check back for an official confirmation then.
The U.K.-Canada IRA drama Fifty Dead Men Walking, directed by Kari Skogland and starring Ben Kingsley and Rose McGowan, will receive its world premiere at the Toronto International Film Festival beginning September 4, 2008. This according to The Hollywood Reporter.
