I have a wonderful surprise for today! Powered by my awesome friend Riikka of Isla Fisher Web we have scans of Esquire UK’s April 2008 issue which features a huge 9 page spread on Jim Sturgess! It’s a brand new shoot and article and it’s fantastic, definitely one of my favorites!

Note: Please do not cut the tags and credit with a link to if you must repost, she spent a lot of time on these scans for us and it’s always polite to give credit.

Jim Sturgess has revealed he once worked with Oscar-nominated Canadian actress Ellen Page - and was thoroughly impressed. Check out his sweet comments on the lovely actress!

The British star of 21 says: “I actually did a film, Mouth To Mouth, with Ellen Page years and years ago, when she was about 15, so I knew her a long time ago. It was a no budget, indie flick and I don’t think I’ve even seen the film!”

The 26-year-old actor, who plays maths genius Ben Campbell in the new gambling drama, admits that he was impressed with the Juno star’s talent back then.

Apologies for the delay in updates these few days, My computer was not working since Saturday evening so I wasn’t able to come online at all. Anyways I think everything is back to normal again so I caught the site up on news and articles. One thing also worth mentioning is 21 came in #1 for the second week in a row! Raking in another $15+ million. Big congrats to Jim for the deserved success.

As I mentioned last week Jim is featured in several magazines right now. I now have added scans from most of them: Alternative Press (May), Brazillian Elle (April) thanks to Mariana, Improper Bostonian (March 19 - April 1) and clippings. I will be scanning my other Jim mags when time permits. Enjoy the reading!

Big shots, the both of them.

An on-the-rise actor and the high-rolling professional gambler he was about to portray in a major motion picture, 21.

Too bad neither of them could get the blasted stogies to light.

“And we were just reduced to the clowns that we are,” recalls Jim Sturgess, the actor. “It broke down all the boundaries very quickly. And then we just went, ‘Okay, I’m not that cool.’ ‘I’m not that cool, either — let’s just talk about what really happened.’ ”

Jim Sturgess divided critics with Across The Universe, but with 21 hitting number one in the US, it seems that now is his moment. Like most men of a certain age who possess a lot of vinyl, I was pretty excited when I heard that Julie Taymor (the woman behind Titus and Frida) was directing a musical based on the works of The Beatles.

And then I saw Across The Universe. And I felt like punching everyone involved in it.

Especially Bono, when he comes trouncing through as Dr Robert, squeezing the life out of ‘I Am The Walrus’.
